๐Ÿ“ฃ OPEN CALL TO ORGANISE EJC 2028 & EJC 2029 ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿคนโ€โ™€๏ธ

We are looking ahead to the future of the European Juggling Convention and we are opening the call for communities interested in hosting EJC 2028 or EJC 2029.

This is an invitation to dream big, gather your community, and imagine what an EJC in your city could look like.

๐ŸŽ‰ EJC 2028 โ€“ A very special edition

EJC 2028 will mark the 50th anniversary of the European Juggling Convention.

That makes it a truly unique moment in the history of our community:
โœจ 50 years of juggling
โœจ 50 years of meeting across borders
โœจ 50 years of sharing skills, creativity, friendship, and values

Hosting EJC 2028 means becoming part of a milestone celebration โ€” honouring the past while shaping the future of the EJC spirit.

๐ŸŒฑ EJC 2029 โ€“ Continuing the journey

EJC 2029 will follow as a regular edition, offering another opportunity for a local community to bring its own vision, culture, and identity to the European Juggling Convention.

Every EJC is different, because every hosting team is different โ€” and that diversity is one of the strengths of our community.

๐Ÿค What does it mean to organise an EJC?

Organising an EJC is a big responsibility, but also an incredibly rewarding community experience.

It means:

  • Bringing together a local team

  • Working with volunteers from across Europe

  • Creating spaces for training, shows, families, fire, aerials, and community life

  • Hosting thousands of jugglers, artists, and circus enthusiasts

The European Juggling Association (EJA) supports organising teams throughout the process with:
๐Ÿ”น Experience from past editions
๐Ÿ”น Structural guidance and continuity
๐Ÿ”น Support around safeguarding, logistics, and long-term planning

Each organising team, however, keeps full ownership of its edition and shapes it according to its local context and vision.

๐Ÿ“… Timeline & next steps

If your group is interested or simply curious, we encourage you to:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Get in touch with us by the end of February for an initial, informal conversation.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Full bid submissions are expected by the end of April.

There is no obligation at the start โ€” just a conversation to explore possibilities, ask questions, and understand what hosting an EJC involves.

๐Ÿ’œ A community-driven invitation

The EJC exists because communities step forward and say:
โ€œWe want to host, we want to build, we want to share.โ€

If you have ever thought โ€œCould we do this in our city?โ€ โ€” this is the moment to start that conversation.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Share this post, talk to your local juggling community, and reach out to us.
The next chapters of the EJC are waiting to be written.
