❤️ Our Community, Our Responsibility
The European Juggling Convention has always been much more than a festival. It is a temporary home where thousands of people from dozens of countries come together to share juggling, circus, creativity, friendship and unforgettable experiences.
That is only possible because every single one of us helps create a safe, welcoming and respectful environment.
For EJC 2026 and across the European Juggling Association (EJA) community, we want to make our expectations absolutely clear.
✅ What we expect from everyone
We encourage every participant to:
💜 Treat everyone with respect and respect their personal boundaries.
💜 Always ask for consent before physical contact, photos, videos or any interaction that affects another person.
💜 Be collaborative, supportive and help build a positive community.
💜 Step in safely or seek help if you see someone in distress or a potentially harmful situation.
💜 Be mindful that people come from many different countries, cultures, identities and backgrounds.
💜 Respect shared spaces, training areas, camping areas and the people around you.
💜 Support people who experience inappropriate behaviour and, when appropriate and with their consent, report incidents.
💜 Be the caring, inclusive and welcoming community member you know you can be.
🚫 Behaviour that has no place at EJC
The following behaviours are not welcome and may result in intervention or removal from the event:
❌ Harassment, violence or threats of violence.
❌ Bullying, intimidation or extortion.
❌ Stalking.
❌ Any form of abuse, discrimination or exclusion.
❌ Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory language, jokes, gestures or symbols.
❌ Sharing private, sensitive or vulnerable information or images without permission.
❌ Non-consensual physical contact.
❌ Taking photographs, videos or recordings without consent where privacy should be respected.
❌ Ignoring, encouraging or tolerating harmful behaviour from others.
🤝 Everyone has a role
Creating a safe convention is not only the responsibility of the organisers or the Safeguarding Team.
It belongs to all of us.
Every conversation.
Every workshop.
Every campsite.
Every show.
Every late-night jam.
Every shared meal.
Every smile.
Every act of kindness.
Small actions create the culture that makes the EJC special.
If someone asks you to stop, listen.
If someone needs help, offer support.
If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it.
🟣 Safeguarding matters
Our Safeguarding Team is here to support participants, listen without judgement and help when concerns arise.
Reporting an incident is never about “getting someone into trouble.”
It is about protecting people, preventing harm and ensuring everyone can enjoy the convention safely.
You are never bothering us by asking for help.
🌍 One community. Many cultures.
People attending EJC come from every corner of Europe and far beyond.
Different languages, customs and experiences enrich our community.
Respect, empathy and communication allow us to learn from one another and create something truly unique.
Kindness has no language barrier.
Respect has no nationality.
Circus belongs to everyone.
❤️ Let’s make EJC 2026 unforgettable for the right reasons.
Let’s be known for our generosity.
For our creativity.
For our inclusiveness.
For looking after one another.
For creating a place where everyone—regardless of age, gender, nationality, identity, ability, experience or background—feels safe to juggle, learn, perform, camp and make lifelong friends.
Together, we make the European Juggling Convention what it is.
Let’s protect it. Let’s care for each other. Let’s lead by example.
